The Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at TH OWL is committed to the sustainable design and development of open spaces. The Höxter campus offers excellent conditions for teaching and research thanks to its well-equipped IT and outdoor laboratories, a university-owned botanical garden, good room facilities, and an environment with scientific and non-scientific staff.
Your tasks:
We are looking for a personality who can innovatively represent the field of plant design and the various aspects of plant use in teaching in our Bachelor's programs "Landscape Architecture", "Landscape Construction and Green Space Management" as well as in postgraduate Master's programs.
Active participation in the acquisition of third-party funds through research and transfer projects as well as the willingness to be involved in the further development of the department, its study programs and the Höxter campus with its botanical garden is expected.
You will teach your content in different teaching formats (lectures, projects, seminars and excursions). Your tasks also include the scientific management of the botanical garden with the associated management function of the existing team.
Furthermore, you promote innovative and interdisciplinary study and communication formats for multidisciplinary teaching and for the dialog between science and society. This may include, in particular, interdisciplinary student projects and may involve, if possible, several departments. 25% of your teaching is provided as digital teaching, if required, to enable cross-location events.
You identify with the university's supervision concept, which requires a high presence of the lecturers at the university location and the willingness to take on self-administrative task at the university. You offer your courses in German. In addition, you are prepared to conduct courses in English and to actively participate in expanding cooperation relationships with domestic and foreign universities.

We are looking for a colleague with
li an understanding of plants as dynamically changing design elements with particular consideration of the aspects of maintenance in the context of function as well as site suitability
- outstanding knowledge of woody plants and perennials
- the ability to use these in a site-appropriate way with a focus on design and biodiversity, e.g. in the development of vegetation images and their implementation in sophisticated planting plans
- knowledge in the field of climate adaptation of vegetation stands both in the context of maintenance and new planting
